When developing the vision for Aroma, one of the fundamental areas for the coffee shop was to provide as many Fairtrade products as possible. We are now proud to announce that all of our hot drinks are Fairtrade and we are constantly looking out for new Fairtrade products that we can sell at Aroma.
Other fairtrade products that can be purchased in Aroma consist of gifts and cards, which provide a fair deal to those making them and give our customers the opportunity of buying a unique product
We also now provide a range of high quality Fairtrade gifts and cards where the people who make them get a fair deal and our customers get something well made and original
So why is Fairtrade is important to us. The Fairtrade Foundation (www.fairtrade.org.uk) sum it up very well
‘Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives’
